PlanetSide 2 PS4 beta likely arriving in January

It hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but with 2014 quickly coming to a close, it's looking more and more likely that the PlanetSide 2 closed beta for PlayStation 4 won't arrive until January 2015.

Again it hasn't been confirmed, but tweets from Sony Online Entertainment community manager Tony "RadarX" Jones indicate that approval for the PlanetSide 2 PS4 beta build, which was reportedly to be submitted this month, likely won't be approved until January.

Speaking to an SOE representative at PlayStation Experience, I was told the plan was to submit the beta build on December 17th. If all were to go smoothly, there was a chance closed beta could become available around Christmas, or the end of December.

SOE hasn't told me if the build was submitted though, and when I asked I was given a very generic response. "At the time we don't have any updated info to share on PlanetSide 2 for PS4," a representative told me.

So at this point, it's a mystery as to whether or not the build has been submitted, but at least we have a better idea as to when we should expect the PlanetSide 2 beta to arrive on PS4. Maybe if we're all good little boys and girls we can get it this month, but it's more realistic to expect it next month.
