The PlayStation 4 version of PlanetSide 2 will support the system's remote play functionality with PlayStation Vita, Sony Online Entertainment has confirmed.
"… we plan to support remote play on the PS Vita," SOE says, noting that the feature won't be available until the official launch of PlanetSide 2 on PS4. SOE also says they plan to take advantage of other PS4-specific features, including the DualShock 4's touchpad for UI navigation, and the Share button which will allow players to "showcase their most epic battle moments with friends."
Closed beta for the game is scheduled to begin next week on January 20th. SOE plans to invite "a few thousand" players into the beta at the beginning, and will continue to invite players in waves throughout the beta period. For those of you who have waited, it's not too late to sign up for the closed beta, but expect to wait a while as invites will be sent in chronological order of when you sign up.
