PlanetSide 2’s former creative director had the best tweet to celebrate the game’s PS4 launch

With Batman: Arkham Knight pretty much hogging the spotlight today, you might've missed another great game's release on PlayStation 4 — PlanetSide 2.

Officially out of beta today, PlanetSide 2 — Daybreak Game Company's MMOFPS — is now available for free for all PS4 owners. Yup, completely free, and Matthew Higby, the game's former creative director, let everybody know that. In what was possibly the best way to announce a game's release, Higby tweeted the following:

Of course, the game Higby is referencing is Activision's Destiny, another online shooter (though on a smaller multiplayer scale) that has been under some heat ever since its newest expansion, The Taken King, as announced for a whopping $40 — a price that has understandably upset many of the game's long time supporters who feel they are being shafted by the Collector's Edition-exclusive dance emotes.

So if you're looking for a solid, free-to-play MMO first-person shooter go check out PlanetSide 2. But be warned, as a free-to-play game there will be microtransactions.
