Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare ‘Boss Mode’ is exclusive to Xbox One

During EA's press conference today PopCap made a few more announcements regarding Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, the upcoming third-person shooter based on the popular mobile tower defense game.

First off, PopCap confirmed you'll be able to play as both plants and zombies in the shooter, a reveal that was aided by a trailer highlighting a few of the zombie classes.

The big announcement, however, was that the game's new Boss Mode will be an Xbox One exclusive. EA showed off a brief trailer for the new mode which uses Kinect and SmartGlass functionality to have you control either Crazy Dave or evil Doctor Zomboss — voiced by Russell Brand — and reign down havoc on players in-game in a top-down view through the app.

Earlier today, during Microsoft's press conference, it was confirmed that both Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and Peggle 2 will launch first on Xbox One before arriving on other platforms.
