PlatinumGames delays Scalebound to next year

One of the most anticipated Xbox One exclusive games for 2016 has officially been delayed, making it the first major game delay in 2016. PlatinumGames took to their website to reveal that Scalebound will not be making the late 2016 release that had been announced, but will instead release in 2017.

The reason for the delay should be familiar to anyone that owns a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Like Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, Uncharted 4: A Theif's End, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Scalebound has been delayed in order to allow the developers time to 'deliver on' their ambitious vision.

"In order to deliver on our ambitious vision and ensure that Scalebound lives up to expectations, we will be launching the game in 2017. This will give us the time needed to bring to life all the innovative features and thrilling gameplay experiences that we have planned."

While announcing the delay, PlatinumGames assured fans that development on the game is 'going well' and that they are 'really happy with how it’s coming together.' According to the developers, more of Scalebound's world, creatures and experiences will be revealed in 2016.
