Player recreates Princess Peach’s castle from Super Mario 64 in Halo 5’s Forge

I have no skills.

Halo player Bearskopff is no stranger to recreating things in Halo 5: Guardians through the long-standing map editing tool, Forge. Bearskopff has recreated the Millennium Falcon, the Death Star docking bay and the Battle of Hoth from Star Wars using the robust tool, but his most recent build brought about some of the biggest headaches.

Although 343 Industries promised that Halo 5's Forge would be 'the biggest Forge yet,' it took Bearskopff three attempts to recreate Princess Peach's castle from Super Mario 64 in Halo. The first two builds went over the object limit without him even finishing the castle.

According to Bearskopff, levels are allowed a total of 1024 objects in Forge, his finished model of Princess Peach's castle comes out at 1023 objects of the allotted 1024 objects.

"Every single brick is a single object; no fancy textures or shortcuts here," explained Bearskopff, "In all all, you're looking at a combined object use of around 750 – 850 [for the castle alone]."

Bearskopff did his best to recreate the castle as authentically as possible, relying on only primitive shapes to complete the build. "As you'll see throughout this gallery, the environment was constructed entirely from primitive shapes – again, no shortcuts taken here."

What Bearskopff will build next in Forge hasn't been detailed, but he did say it would have to be "ruddy awesome."
