Players discover how to get Destiny: The Taken King’s Black Spindle

A new video posted by YouTuber Mister Wooches (via Reddit) is believed to be the first ever sighting of Destiny: The Taken King's Black Spindle, a Year Two Exotic version of Black Hammer.

Although the video below is believed to be the first we've seen of this weapon, which drops from today's Daily Heroic (Lost to Light), multiple Guardians on Reddit have since confirmed they too received the weapon as a reward.

So how do you get the Black Spindle? Well, there appears to be some hidden requirements you must meet during the Daily Heroic. While nobody appears to know for certain what makes the Black Spindle drop, there are multiple guides and videos now attempting to explain the process. The general belief is that it is time-based, and that everyone in the Fireteam will get the drop if successful. It's also believed that the door will not open if your entire team wipes before you reach the Ketch.

Because there are multiple theories out there, below are some quick guides from various players on Reddit.

"Once you get to the Ogre just try to kill him as fast as possible I reccomend stun locking with snipers/shottys. After that it is a sprint to the first door in which it requires only 1 relic to unlock. After that first door their will be one more in your way requiring 2 relics, find them and get past that door as well. Once you have done this you should be able to hear the door opening in the distance. Continue through the start section of the strike "The Shadow Thief" Once you board the Ketch, a 10 minute timer will start and you must eliminate ALL taken on the ship to complete the mission. If done correctly you will be rewarded with the Black Spindle! Tip: Kill the boss(Driksis)"

"All right. So I just got it. From the very beginning just ignore everything and get to the Crota's chamber. Beat the Ogre fast, watch it get taken, run to the first relic room and grab the first relic. Slam it on the rune. Run to the next relic room and two separate people go grab each relic and repeat. Run into the next room and just ignore the adds and the relics. Go straight into the Taniks strike area and go up the gravilift.

Bring 3 people. You'll need em for the last room. You have to kill all the adds and the boss and they get crazy if you let the psions multiply."

1) Load up the Taken King Story mission "Lost to Light" from the Moon and set it to "Light 240 Hard"

2) Go as fast as possible. Skip all the hostiles you can up until the Ogre boss. Try and eliminate it as fast as you can.

3) After retrieving the Crystal, Oryx appears in holographic form. You will have to escape the Hellmouth as fast as you can.

4) After bypassing two doors, you will come to a third. This one requires three Relics and is located by a Hive Seeder. Ignore this and instead head towards the doors which lead to the Fallen Ketch. Just like in The Shadow Thief Strike.

5) Head towards the gravity lift. Make sure you are ready then head on up.

6) As soon as encounter your first Taken threat, you will be put on a 10:00 minute timer.

7) Progress through the ship, kill everything

Note: I scanned the big rock during the mission. You encounter this on your way up to the crystal. However, I doubt this has any effect. Good luck.

In addition to the Black Spindle, players have also reported receiving the "Vienna Singer" ship.
