To say that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) is hit would be an understatement. Ever since the game hit Steam, its popularity skyrocketed and the game is now planned to release on the Xbox One.
Regardless of why PUBG is such a hit, it's become a fact that, at this point, PUBG is a juggernaut on the PC. The official Twitter account for PUBG has posted a photo showing the peak player counts in July and PUBG sits at number three. Why is this such a feat you may ask? Because PUBG is the highest ranking "non-Valve" made game on Steam (Valve owns Steam, for those of you who don't know).
We now hold the record for the highest peak player count of any non-Valve game! GG WP everyone <3 pic.twitter.com/cHjXPeSE8p

The data in the image shows a game's highest point a player count has ever reached, so basically, PUBG has surpassed both GTA V and Fallout 4's highest point ever. The includes GTA's highest player count, back in April of 2015.
What's astounding is that PUBG is still an early access title and has sold over 5 million copies.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is scheduled for its full release in late 2017, with an Xbox One version following soon thereafter.
