PlayStation 4 Firmware Update 4.55 Released; Here’s What Changed

Sony has released the latest PlayStation 4 firmware update 4.55. It offers more stability for PS4.

The update, which is 324.1 megabytes, has several users reporting fixes on WIFI issues, although the official release notes only mention system stability updates.

This update seems to be run-of-the-mill maintenance, unlike the last update last month, which included a "boost mode" for PS4 Pro and external hard drive support, custom wallpapers, voice chat and remote play.

Release Notes for 4.55:

  • This system software update improves the quality of the system performance.
