PlayStation 4 hits new sales milestone in the Middle East

Over 1 million PS4s sold in the Middle East

Sony has announced that PlayStation 4 sales in the Middle East have surpassed one million units.

Speaking at a press event today (via IGN), SCE MENA General Manager Robert Fisser reportedly thanked gamers for their passionate support, adding that Sony's support for Arabic across the games and social channels have proved to be beneficial for PlayStation in the region. The Arabic language is currently suppored on the PS4's system user interface, and Sony has focused on introducing localization on many of its first part titles.

As for what's next, Fisser commented, "On to the next million, I already have the stock ready."

In July, Sony announced that the PlayStation 4 had eclipsed the 25.3 million sales mark worldwide. Three million PS4 consoles were sold in the first fiscal quarter of the year alone. The PS4 has been outpacing the PS2 since launch, and much of its success can be attributed to Sony's focus on making the system open and available to as many languages and regions as possible.
