PlayStation 4 Pro will not include a 4K Blu-Ray player

The PS4 Pro was just revealed to much disappointment from fans and to add to the disappointment, Sony has revealed that the upgraded PS4 will not include a 4K Blu-Ray player like its competitor, the Xbox One S, does.

Several sources have reached out to Sony for comment on the matter of if a 4K Blu-Ray player would be included, and it would appear that they are indeed not including it. This is a very bizarre choice for a console that is focusing on being a 4K machine but not including a way to watch 4K Blu-Ray discs. Sony claims the reasoning for the lack of the Blu-Ray player is that the console will focus mostly on gaming even though it has 4K Netflix and YouTube apps.

Sony also showed off gameplay for Mass Effect: Andromeda, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and revealed a slimmed down PS4.
