PlayStation 5 architect Mark Cerny to give tech deep dive tomorrow

After virtually leaving the playing field to Microsoft for the past months, Sony is finally preparing to talk more about their own next-gen system. Tomorrow, the chief architect of the PlayStation 5 will go into a technical deep dive about Sony’s upcoming new gaming system.

The next-gen hype train is in full force, and not at least thanks to Microsoft who have been at the forefront of promoting the Xbox Series X for almost a year now. In fact, after yesterday’s media blowout, there’s only little we don’t know about the future of Xbox. From detailed technical specifications to new paradigm shifts, the Xbox has a firm hold on the attention of gamers.

Sony, on the other hand, has been very stringy when it comes to the PlayStation 5 news. While we were blown away by the revolutionary official name of the system – that’s sarcasm folks – Sony has been much more closed. Especially compared to Microsoft. What’s the design of the PS5? Is there yet another big DualShock redesign? How does the performance compare to the Xbox Series X?

At least some of these questions could be answered tomorrow. Sony has teased that Mark Cerny, the technical chief behind the PS4 & PS5, will share an article on the official PlayStation Blog tomorrow, at 9 am PT, where he will go into a technical deep dive about the PlayStation 5’s features. Note, that there is no word about revealing the console itself. So, don’t get your hopes up to see the physical console itself. Hopefully, Cerny will go into similar detail as the team over at Xbox who openly shared even the most minute technical specs of the Series X.

While Sony absolutely dominated the current console generation, the Xbox made a remarkable return to form and is set to become a much more formidable competitor going into next-gen. It’ll be fascinating to see what’s Sony’s answer to that tomorrow.
