PlayStation overtakes Xbox as most preferred porn watching console in 2015

Porn mega site Pornhub.com has released its annual Year in Review, sharing with us all sorts of fascinating details about peoples' porn watching habits for 2015. There was plenty of shakeup in last year's habits, but perhaps none bigger than the PlayStation overtaking Xbox as the most preferred console for accessing porn on Pornhub.

Pornhub broke down its traffic by game console, revealing that its traffic shares from PlayStation are up to an impressive 46.9%, an increase of 6.9% from 2014. Shares of views from Xbox, meanwhile, saw a drop from 2014's 45.7% to 37.9% in 2015.

While Microsoft claims Xbox is the "all-in-one entertainment hub," it seems that when it comes to porn, PlayStation is where it's at. The site attributes the change in position to PS4 sales nearly doubling those of the Xbox One (International Business Times). Sony most recently announced that worldwide sales of the PS4 have surpassed 35 million units. That's a lot of consoles to watch porn on. If Pornhub's reasoning is sound, that could suggest that a greater portion of Xbox owners are using their console for porn, there's just more PlayStation consoles out in the wild to balance it.

As for the rest of the gaming industry, Nintendo's Wii checks in at third with 8.9% of the traffic shares, while the Vita has 5% of the shares. Interestingly, the 3DS only has 1.3% of the shares, but had the largest change in traffic shares from 2014 to 2015 (18.9%).

I can't say I've ever taken the time to watch porn on my gaming console, but perhaps I'm missing out on something by not. At least now I know why they call it the PlayStation. Okay, I'll see myself out now.
