PlayStation releases new podcast detailing God of War and Norse mythology

Back in the early 2000s, PlayStation dropped a very adult oriented hack and slash game on the PS2 called God of War. The game was rooted deeply in Greek mythology and even saw the player taking on various iconic Greek goods head to head in boss battles amongst various other things. The series was seemingly over after Sony wrapped up a nice trilogy on the PlayStation 3 but at E3 a couple years ago, they revealed that Kratos would be returning but this time in a new part of the world.

A much older, weary Kratos will be joined by his son to take on various monsters and creatures in Norse mythology. For those familiar with Thor, many of those characters like Loki and Thor himself come from Norse mythology so it’s likely we’ll see them appear in the game. Norse lore has a lot of history though, so PlayStation is giving players an easy way to learn more about it in-depth via a new podcast.

The podcast goes into great detail helps players understand the world a bit more and teases just what we’re going to see and experience when God of War drops in 2018. You can check out a quick, flashy teaser showing off the undead creatures known as Draugr and the podcast below.

God of War releases exclusively on PlayStation 4 in 2018.
