PlayStation truly was the home of Call of Duty for November

Back in November, Sony's Andrew House boldly proclaimed PlayStation as the "new home" for Activision's monstrous Call of Duty franchise. Fast forward a few months, and that statement rings true for at least the month of November, during which Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 was the PlayStation Store's top-selling game.

Perhaps it was the new partnership between Activision and Sony, which marks the first time the critically acclaimed Call of Duty franchise will cater to PlayStation first over Xbox. Or perhaps its that Call of Duty is just a very popular franchise.

Whatever the case, Black Ops 3 outsold all of November's other new game releases on the PlayStation Store, including Bethesda's Fallout 4 and EA's Star Wars Battlefront. The latter is probably the biggest surprise as Battlefront was supposed to be EA's big holiday blockbuster. The fact it debuted fourth on the PlayStation Store's list is a bit disconcerting.

Check out the PlayStation Store sales charts for November 2015 below:

  1. Call of Duty: Black Ops III (New)
  2. Fallout 4 (New)

Call of Duty was also the top-selling DLC on PlayStation for the month, with Black Ops 3's season pass leading the holiday charge over PlayStation-exclusive Bloodborne's "The Old Hunters" and Rocket League's "Back to the Future" Car Pack. Again, Star Wars Battlefront's Season Pass was surprisingly low on the list.
