PlayStation TV to launch with nearly 700 games available on day one

PlayStation TV — the micro-console aimed primarily at streaming content, PS1, and Vita games to your television — will launch on October 14 with nearly 700 games available on day one.

Sony confirmed today that a number of popular games and franchises will be available for the system, including Killzone: Mercenary, Persona 4 Golden, and Metal Gear Solid, while also announcing that the soon-to-be-released Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom will also be available in November for PS TV. Other titles include Rayman Origins, Spelunky, Twisted Metal, Borderlands 2, and the God of War collection.

"Our library will continue to expand, with other fan favorites like Minecraft and more," said SCEA's John Koller. "We’re proud to bring such a broad array of content from multiple PlayStation platforms to PS TV, a small console at a great value."

PS TV is available as a standalone system for $99.99, or $139.99 for the bundle that includes a DualShock 3 wireless controller, 8GB memory card, and The LEGO Movie Videogame. Fora  limited time, you can also find an exclusive bundle at Walmart, which comes with everything in the PS TV bundle plus Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (also $139.99).

In addition to playing Vita games, PlayStation classics, and PS3 games on your television, the PS TV also allows you to use Remote Play to stream an enabled PS4 game from your console to another television in the house over a wired internet connection. So if the living room is tied up, you can just use Remote Play to play on another television somewhere else in your house.
