PlayStation Underground returns with a look at PS4’s Amplitude

Iconic 90's magazine makes triumphant return

Back in the late '90s, Sony Computer Entertainment America published PlayStation Underground, a PlayStation-focused digital magazine that came in the form of CDs that could be played on PlayStation and PlayStation 2 consoles.

In a surprise announcement today, Sony has revealed that they are bringing PlayStation Underground back, but in a slightly different form "of an online show about video games."

To kick off the return of PlayStation Underground, Harmonix and Sony have previewed an early build of the upcoming music rhythm PS4 game, Amplitude. What better way to celebrate the return of an iconic magazine series than bringing on a game with equally nostalgic roots?

Sony hopes to roll out new Underground episodes every other week, "with a vision of a weekly broadcast in the near future."

"If you tune into Underground in the coming months, expect to see upcoming game previews, and hear insider details from the best and brightest in the gaming community," SCEA's Ryan Clements teased. "Underground is just getting started, so you can expect a few things to change over the coming months as we fall into a rhythm of our own and tidy up the place. But for now, please sit back, fetch a refreshing beverage, and enjoy."
