During Sony's special VR press conference at GDC, we didn’t just get a new look at the machine and some of its new games, but we also got the long awaited price and release date.
PlayStation VR is set to release later this year in October 2016and it will cost you up to $399. This is currently the cheapest VR headset out to date, with Oculus starting at $599 and HTC Vive sitting at $799. Sony did say it would cost as much as a console would and they came through on that.

"For PlayStation VR games especially, the developer community has benefited from getting hands-on impressions" from gamers. There are now 'over 230' developers working on PSVR said Andrew House. "For what it's worth, PlayStation has hardly been the most open about its VR plans — it's been a lot more private than Oculus and Valve.
