PlayStation VR to have over 100 titles, says Sony

Yesterday, we finally got our reveal for the Oculus Rift price at a pretty hefty $599. Absent the PC needed to run the equipment, you're looking at about $1500 total at a minimum unless you build your own. With Oculus having a big showing at CES this week, it's main competition in the field in Sony's PlayStation VR was notably absent. That doesn't mean, however, that Sony or its CEO Kaz Hirai wasn't keeping an eye on Oculus' announcement.

Although they didn't make any reveals, Sony and CEO Kaz Hirai informed BBC of some details regarding its own virtual reality headset. According to Hirai, the unit is currently in the hands of over 200 developers and there are 100 titles and growing in development for it. Last we've heard, there were just over 50 games confirmed for the unit so over 100 puts a decent amount of pressure on Oculus.

Rumors have the PlayStation VR at around "the price of a console" so guesses of $399 have been floating around. Add in the current price of the PS4 and you're still looking at about half of the Oculus' cost. We've also only heard of two confirmed games for the Oculus in Eve: Valkrie and Lucky's Tale. No other information was revealed for the PlayStation VR as Hirai promises more to come later this year; but, Oculus has their work cut out for them so far with Sony's confirmed developments.
