PlayStation Vue, Sony’s in-house streaming workaround to cable and satellite subscriptions, is now available throughout the U.S.
To celebrate the service’s expanded reach, Sony will offer discounted “slim plan” bundles in Vue’s 203 new markets, which include video-on-demand-only content from ABC, FOX and NBC. Those are: a $29.99/month 55-channel package; $34.99/month 70-channel package; and $44.99/month 100-channel package.
“With an Internet connection and a PlayStation Vue TV-connected device, there are no hidden fees or long-term contracts for PlayStation Vue,” Sony wrote on the PlayStation blog.
PlayStation Vue’s international launch punctuates a long line of slow but steady growth. In March 2015, the service came to Chicago, New York City and Philadelphia. Later that same month, AMC networks joined the Vue ranks. In November, the service gained ESPN, ABC and several Disney-owned networks.
Vue can now be accessed from PS3, PS4, Amazon Fire TV, iOS devices and the Android Vue app, which helps take the edge off the fact that you can only access your account from your home device.
