Poe Dameron is a Resistance pilot – and from what we've seen in The Force Awakens we know he's a damn good pilot – but this new theory from Hypable uncovers something you might not have considered, his sexuality.
Star Wars has never included an openly gay major character before, but one Star Wars fan thinks this is all about to change.
Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley (Rey) and John Boyega (Finn) impressed many Star Wars fans in the new instalment and all appeared on the Ellen Show on December 17th, which you can see below.
Their comments never received enormous media attention by any means, however Hypable's Natalie Fisher might have spotted the needle in the haystack with this one.
To those that have watched Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which is pretty much everybody now, you will have noticed the chemistry between Finn and Rey, but also his pal Poe.
Basically the idea is that Poe is actually a gay character and Star Wars will recreate a love triangle similar to that of Luke, Leia and Han Solo in the original trilogy.
Now, although what we've seen so far only suggests that Poe is a friend of Finn, there is a distinct possibility that there's much more romance to come from the pilot.
Oscar Isaac, who plays Poe, said: “I think it’s very subtle romance that’s happening. You know, you have to just look very close — you have to watch it a few times to see the little hints. But there was.”
Ellen then asked: “So it’s subtle, but you were playing romance. When we’re watching you, that’s what we should be aware of.”
Some might say that the theory is a little far-fetched but when you see comments such as these, you can certainly understand why this theory is catching on.
The release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens has sparked a surge of fans trying their hand in the theory business, and this isn't the only one. Speaking of theories, there is a pretty crazy Jar Jar Binks one, read more here.
