Earlier this month a rumor suggested that Pokemon Crystal would be making its release on the 3DS Virtual Console and now, Nintendo has made it official. The 17-year-old Game Boy Color game will be heading to the 3DS Virtual Console on January 26th, 2018 with a digital download option and physical option.
Pokémon caught in Pokémon Crystal can be transferred to the Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun, and Pokémon Ultra Moon games thanks to the Pokémon Bank paid service and can be traded (or battled) with friends via wireless connection.
Nintendo is continuing the trend of bringing Pokémon games to the 3DS and hopefully when the Nintendo Switch Pokémon game releases, we will see these games on the Switch too.
