Nintendo only announced 3DS remakes of Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire earlier this month, but here they are trademarking another rerelease: Pokemon Delta Emerald, undoubtedly a 3DS counterpart to the beloved GBA release.
The trademark was uncovered by Japanese gaming blog Hachima Kikou, and was filed May 2 (Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire were announced May 7) but only made public today. However, it’s worth noting that a trademark alone isn’t reason to fret over which version to buy. Nintendo has trademarked multiple unreleased Pokemon games in the past, presumably to cover their bases in the event of an appealing but initially unplanned release, meaning Delta Emerald may or may not see the light of day.
That said, a trademark alone is plenty of reason to hope beyond hope.
