A recent usage survey reveals that Pokemon GO is now officially the most used mobile app today.
It been about a week since Pokemon GO went live for mobile devices. The augmented reality RPG has been plucking that nostalgia string for children of the 90's, while also immersing newcomers to the franchise with a take on the games that fans have been clamoring for for literally decades. Now, it seems that not only is it one of the best applications released in the last few years (minus all the bugs), but it is now the most downloaded and used app on the market.
Sensor Tower recently took it upon themselves to track the usage of some of the most popular apps available, only to find that Pokemon GO has surpassed old reliables like Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat as the one which people have been spending most of their time.
The chart above depicts the usage habits for Pokemon GO's competition. The RPG seems to be spreading like wildfire, having bested the old contendor, Facebook, by more than ten extra minutes on average for your common smartphone user. Its even being used three times as much as the mobile game, Slither.io, which has been the most virally downloaded until the release of PMG.
From the look of it, Pokemon GO is on track to becoming the most used app everywhere, especially considering its recent availability in the UK, not to mention the newest features and Pokemon generations slated for updates.
