Pokemon for Nintendo Switch and Bayonetta 3 listed for 2018 by Nintendo

2018 may be another strong year for Nintendo.

Nintendo had a pretty killer year in 2017 with the launch of the Nintendo Switch. The console gave us two critically acclaimed exclusives that were nominated for game of the year, one of which ended up winning, a handful of great third-party titles to play on the go, and Nintendo even teased the future of the console with a Bayonetta trilogy, Metroid Prime 4, and an untitled Pokemon title amongst other things.

None of these brand new games have dates or really anything more than a logo but Nintendo seems to be hinting at another big year for the Switch with a new official survey. The survey lists Bayonetta 3 and the untitled Pokemon game when asking about what games the player would be most likely to purchase in the next 12 months but Metroid Prime 4 is notably missing, meaning they weren’t just putting all of their upcoming games on this survey.

We may be reading into it too much but as of right now, there aren’t too many first-party Nintendo Switch exclusives announced for 2018 so Nintendo may be waiting to announce 2018 dates for these two games.

Nintendo just had a surprise Nintendo Direct last week which outlined their plans for the Switch in the next few months but didn’t really talk about anything beyond Spring 2018. Rumors have begun swirling that another Nintendo Direct is coming very soon and this is where we could potentially hear more about Pokemon.

The Nintendo Switch is available at retailers for $299.99 right now.
