Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire sold over 3 million units worldwide in 3 days

How popular is the Pokémon franchise now? We know it was insanely popular in the early 2000's, but what about 14 years later?

Turns out, people still love Pokémon. Well, if you can use the games opening sales as an example of devotion and love – which you totally can.

In just three days Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire sold over 3 million copies across the world. What is the standard of comparison? Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire didn't sell as well as their predecessor Pokémon X and Y, those two sold over 4 million copies over a span of 2 days (worldwide as well). Even if Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire didn't meet the quota set by X and Y, people are still loving it.

In fact, you can know how much people are loving it by check out our review (which is due sometime this week).
