Pokemon Shuffle-s onto smart devices

Pokemon Shuffle, the popular 3DS free to play game, will be receiving a mobile port sometime this year. One month ago Nintendo announced the game had reached four million downloads since its February 18 release. That's well over a million downloads per month.

This doesn't seem to be part DeNA's mobile game collaboration with Nintendo. The Pokemon Company is known to do its own thing regarding mobile, as seen by their Pokemon TCG Online being available on PC and iPad. They are a Nintendo affiliate, which means they aren't strictly controlled by the Big N.

Pokemon Shuffle continues to see updates that include fixes to issues with stamina regeneration and special event Pokemon. It remains to be seen whether The Pokemon Company can find a balance for their critically panned implementation of micro-transactions before the game makes its debut on the mobile platform.
