Pokemon Sun and Moon’s first Global Mission failed; New mission announced

The first Global Mission for Pokemon Sun and Moon has officially ended and it looks like we aren't great Pokemon trainers at all.

The Global Mission brought the lofty goal of catching 100 million Pokemon between November 29th and December 12th. If the goal was met, each player that participated in the event would have been awarded 2,000 Festival Coins.

Unfortunately, only 16,423,231 Pokemon were caught… Which isn't that close to the goal of 100 million. Luckily, if you participated in the event, you still get something! Participants will receive 100 Festival Coins and if you registered your copy of Pokemon Sun or Moon on the Pokemon Global Link before the Global Mission began and participated, you get 200 Festival Coins!

Game Freak will be adjusting future missions based on the turnout of this event, so expect some different numbers in the future!  The next Global Mission was also announced and has you looking for Pokémon using Island Scan. It will run from December 27th, 2016.
