Pokemon-Themed Nintendo Direct promises ‘big’ news

Nintendo has announced that they will be holding a Pokemon-themed Nintendo Direct this Friday, February 26th, starting at 7 AM PST / 10 AM EST. As for what Nintendo will be discussing during the event, that remains a mystery.

The Nintendo Direct website is teasing that the Direct will "celebrate 20 years of Pokemon" and that fans can expect some "big Pokemon news" during the event.

So, what can be expected? Well, the Tekken x Pokemon game Pokken Tournament is headed to the Wii U later this year, so the Nintendo Direct will more than likely be commenting on that. In addition to that, the Virtual Console was recently updated with Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow, which clears the path for more classic games to be re-released.

Along with all the NX rumors, Pokemon Go has been predicted to release on the upcoming console.

What we are really hoping for though, is a brand new Pokemon game… Like the rumored Pokemon Z.
