According to a BBC report, two men have been arrested in the U.K. as the first two people charged in relation to video game betting.
Dylan Rigby and Craig Douglas have been charged with promoting a lottery and unlawful gambling. The charged were filed by the gambling commission, not local authorities, and involves betting on various skins and upgrades for characters. The two appeared in court with a case that was adjourned until October 14th.
The gambling site has warned, which hopefully parents either already know or are paying attention to, that many of these sites if not all do not have an age restriction. Underage children get drawn into them as a result, mostly to attempt to win various skins in order to show off their character. It's done with real money and also carries various offenses to children.
We'll keep you updated as we hear more as the case progresses.
