With all the recent drama in the streaming community, and so many unanswered questions, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins streaming on YouTube is massive news.
Ninja, the world-renowned Fortnite player, who has amassed millions of followers on social media, left the streaming platform Twitch at the end of 2019. He moved to a newer platform, called Mixer, from which he received a contract that would guarantee him $20 – $30 million over a number of years. This payout turned out to be much sooner than Blevins anticipated when Mixer shut down, and all of its efforts were put towards Facebook Gaming.
With Ninja now securing a $20 – $30 million payout and no longer being held under a contract, many have been wondering if he would move back to Twitch, go to YouTube, shift to Facebook, or maybe even just retire.
Well, with recent news, Tyler will be resuming his streaming career on YouTube starting today at 1:00 PM. With this you can expect many upcoming changes to YouTube, such as making streaming content much more accessible and easy to navigate on the platform.
As of right now there is no exclusivity deal signed between Blevins and YouTube, but we can be sure that Blevins is currently caught up with many contracts that will grant him a ton of money.
“Ninja is currently in negotiations with streaming platforms and no exclusive deal has yet been signed, including YouTube,” said eSports consultant Slasher on Twitter. “Today’s YouTube livestream from Ninja is all on his own. Maybe he’ll stream on Twitch too.”
In the coming weeks we will see if what one could call the number 1 streamer in the world, stays on YouTube, or if he has different plans for the future.
