Portal 2 Testing Initiative resulted in 1.3 million downloads

According to Valve, the Portal 2 Perpetual Testing Initiative level editor they released days ago has generated 35,000 user-created maps and 1.3 million collective downloads.

The Perpetual Testing Initiative allows users to create and share custom puzzles. The in-game Puzzle Maker publishes maps to the Steam Workshop, where gamers can play and vote on others' creations.

To celebrate the successful launch, Steam is holding a Weekend Workshop Sale and discounting Portal 2 (66% off), Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (33% off), and several Team Fortress 2 Workshop items (50% off).
