Poster revealed for movie adaption of Judge Dredd

We've got our first look at the new poster for Dredd, a movie adaption to the famed British comic book character Judge Dredd set to release later this year.

The new poster features the famed character, played by Karl Urban, shrouded in darkness with key features of the character's outfit emphasized with light. You can see the helmet, the badge, and the infamous lawgiver weapon along with the tagline "Judgment is coming".

Dredd, directed by Peter Travis, will see the Street Judge take on terrorist Ma-Man as she attacks Mega-City One with a reality warping drug. Let's not confuse this movie with the 1995 action film starring Sylvester Stallone (although I admit that I loved that one, it was a bit campy).

This new Dredd, however, looks like it's taking a more serious, darker approach with the comic book character. Dredd will release in the U.S. on September 21, 2012 after its UK release on September 7, 2012.
