UDON Entertainment has gone and done something that I’ve actually been waiting on for some time now. I hide no bias when I say I absolutely love Dark Souls. In the past, they’ve gone and made an art book (Design Works) but only in Japanese. UDON has remade the same book but with official English translations. Despite the dim and frustrating nature of Dark Souls, the environment and monster design are quite masterful. On top of all that, there is an interview with the game’s director Hidetaka Miyazaki.
The Dark Souls: Design Works English release date is November 12th, 2013. It currently can be preordered on Amazon for $28.91. There are 128 colored pages and it is 8.25” wide x 11.75” long So, well, get on it! I certainly will be. Want some examples of pages in the book? Check out the gallery above to see the Capra Demon, Kirk, Knight Lautrec, Gargoyles, and the Firelink Shrine.
Enjoy!
