Pre-order GTA 5 through Microsoft Store and get $20 Xbox Live credit

Rockstar may be partnering with Sony to bring PS3 gamers a 75% discount on any Rockstar game when they pre-order Grand Theft Auto 5, but Microsoft is running its own promotion.

When you pre-order GTA 5 through the Microsoft Store you'll also get a coupon for free 1600 Xbox LIVE Points, or the equivalent of $20 to spend on the Xbox Marketplace. As most are aware, Microsoft recently did away with Microsoft Points and instead replaced them with real-world local currency. Despite the switch, the coupon code is still valid.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is set to launch on Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 17.
