Pre-purchase Atari’s Alone in the Dark: Illumination and get access to the beta

Atari has been hard at work on their latest PC game, Alone in the Dark: Illumination. Now that the game is entering its final phases, we're readying for a beta.

Starting tomorrow, Alone in the Dark: Illumination will give those who pre-purchase the game through Steam, access to the game's first beta, as well as its upcoming unscheduled second beta. Players will be able to purchase the game, try out the first campaign of the single player mode, and provide some feedback to the devs. We may or may not have some codes to give out tomorrow (wink wink, nudge nudge).

Alone in the Dark: Illumination, inspired by H.P. Lovecraft, is set in Lorwich, Virgina. The game will take you through several campaigns with multiple levels filled with hordes of monsters (including the Lovecraftian Eldritch Horror). Your only hope is the power of illumination. In this installment of the Alone in the Dark series you will be able to play with up to three other players online.

“With the introduction of a single-player mode with the merciless Hunter, within the first environment, the menacing Coal Mine, we are laying the foundation of Alone in the Dark: Illumination,” said Peter Banks, Senior Product Lead, Atari. “Subsequent updates will introduce new, compelling elements building on this first beta period. The multiplayer mode will also enhance the strategic light-based gameplay, complement the diverse character capabilities, and ensure ongoing fun.”
