Bethesda's sequel of the same name, Prey has quite a narrative. Its alternative take on history (where JFK survives his assassination attempt) sees the United States invest heavily in its space exploration program, and as a result, comes into contact with the smokey aliens. Until now, it has just been a question of when. The answer has now been revealed in the trailer above.
Thanks to JFK, it seems that humanity has been experimenting on the aliens since the 1950's (the game is set in 2032), so it's not hard to see why they might be a bit angry.
Bethesda's Prey was originally revealed back at E3 2016. Details have trickled out since then, namely what the game is actually about and the aliens and powers you can expect to encounter. The game will also feature an alternative protagonist that will feature a female voice and tons of action.
Prey will release on PC, Xbox One and PS4 sometime in 2017.
