Pro League of Legends player, Vasilii, blames indulging in “sensual pleasures” for poor performance

Yes.

Indulging in sensual pleasures too much led one pro League of Legends to vanish from his team's roster because of bad performance (and a that started the whole fiasco cold).

Before the League of Legends Pro League summer split, the Pro League of Legends team, Newbee, signed on an AD Carry named Li “Vasilii” Weijun. Once Vasilii was added to the team's roster the team began winning almost every challenge, except for one, over four weeks.

In week six, Vasilii disappeared from the team's roster. Team Newbee continued on winning, until week eight, but Vasilii's disappearance was never addressed to fans. After Newbee continued on without Vasilii, fans assumed that his replacement, Lwx, had taken his spot and that Vasilii had been removed for poor performance or anger issues.

With fans confused and the thought that Lwx would be taking his position, Vasilii spoke out to protect his name. According to Vasilii, he had asked to be benched because he had a cold. Because the team carried on winning, Vasilii didn't need to make a return just yet, which allowed him time to "indulge in sensual pleasures."

Apparently, those "pleasures" caused his poor performance.

“Because I caught a cold before, I asked to be subbed out for the sake of the Club’s results,” he wrote. “The Club maintained its winning streak, so it wasn’t necessary for me to play, and I let myself indulge in sensual pleasures for a while. This led to me playing poorly in solo queue, but last week we lost, so I started to adjust myself to a more abstinent lifestyle. After about two days, I had already adjusted myself (to abstinence). Those of you only watching the news shouldn’t be so quick to pass judgment on me. It’s incorrect. You can check on my results in Korean solo queue rather than take my word for it. I will continue to play and try to correct this matter.”

Vasilii isn't the first one to claim that abstinence leads to better gaming performance… So, take that thought and do what you will with it.
