In an interesting series of events, Counter-Strike player Reece "bloominator" Bloom has been banned from the ESEA tournament service until 3016 after being exposed as a child predator. Bloom had sexually charged conversation with a 15-year-old girl (which is highly illegal in many states in the U.S.) and was publicly exposed online.
The conversations are online (you can view some of the least graphic ones below, click here for the rest. They are VERY NSFW, so beware) and show not only explicit texts but nude images/videos being exchanged.
The discussions are really creepy and show the dangers of online predators in their full form and prove that really anyone can be a sexual predator. Bloom commented on the exchanges on the ESEA forums before being banned saying "hoes r hoes" and she will realize how "retarded she is in 2 – 4 years". Clearly not the most stable guy in the eSports scene.
Bloom did eventually come out and issue a formal apology before he deleted his account.
“No excuses, obviously incredibly stupid of me to do what I did,” Bloom wrote. “But please keep the hate on me, don’t give crap to to any of my friends or [organisations] I’ve associated with. I hope some people can forgive me, but I understand if not,” he continued.
It's probably safe to say Bloom probably won't be returning to the eSports scene or social media space anytime soon.
