Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is getting a fresh new twist with James McAvoy (Professor X) and Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter). The script for the film was written up by Max Landis, the man behind American Ultra and is directed by Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin); it looks like it will bring action, drama and a touch of humor to classic story.
James McAvoy takes the role of Victor Frankenstein, a scientist who enjoys testing the boundaries morality and forays with resurrecting the dead, while Daniel Radcliffe takes the role of Igor Strausmen, Dr. Frankenstein's protégé. Frankenstein does what he does best and raises the dead – with voiced doubts from Igor.
Of course, they have to survive the monstrosity they have created at some point.
If you're familiar with Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein, you'll enjoy McAvoy's comment about halfway through the trailer.
