Project AM2R Dev: ‘Don’t hate Nintendo’

When the internet doesn't like something, they will let you hear about it. Even if it is so painfully stupid and insignificant in the grand scheme of things, they will do it. Apparently, Nintendo has been feeling the wrath of angry fans in the wake of the removal of Project AM2R. This wrath has also gotten the attention of the person that was most affected by the removal, Milton "DoctorM64" Guasti.

In a blog post discussing his experiences in developing the game (which you can check out here), Guasti asks fans not to hold a grudge against Nintendo and instead show them the type of game they want to see by showing them the money.

He said:

"Please, don't hate Nintendo for all of this. It's their legal obligation to protect their IP.
Instead of sending hate mail, get the original M2 from the eShop. Show them that 2D adventure platformers are still a thing people want."
Guasti is absolutely 100% correct.
Most fans get way too hung up on the notion of idealism that they end up forgetting that at the end of the day, making games is a business. If you want to see real and authentic change, instead of blasting the big companies for being "soulless entities that are only about the money", show them the money, and they will see that what you want is profitable. That's the only way everyone wins.
