The next time my friends complain about me always being late to things, I'll just reference Project CARS, Slightly Mad Studios' gorgeous racing game.
Originally expected to release on November 18, 2014, Project CARS was delayed to March 17, 2015. And now, it has been delayed again.
Slightly Mad Studios has confirmed that Project CARS will now be released on April 2 in North America and Europe. That's the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game; the Wii U edition still has the vague "2015" label.
According to studio head Ian Bell, the delay was "not an easy decision to make," but said the extra days "will allow us to provide the best game experience that our fans deserve. We assure you the wait will be worth it when the game does arrive early April."
That's a much better reason than the one we got with the first delay. When Project CARS was downshifted to 2015, Bell said the new release would give the game "the greatest chance of success and visibility." There's no debating that, as November is typically the busiest time of the year for game releases, but I think we all much prefer the reasoning that it'll lead to "the best game experience."
At least it's only a few weeks.
