Project Cars on Wii U still a possibility

If it doesn't make it on the Wii U, there's always the next Nintendo system

The last we heard about Project Cars on the Wii U was that it would be releasing after "other formats are out." Unfortunately, things aren't looking good for the racing game — at least in terms of its Wii U development.

Ian Bell, the studio head at Slightly Mad Studios took to the Project Cars forums to reveal that the team had encountered problems with development for the Wii U version and are considering having the game come to the next Nintendo console in order to preserve the integrity of their graphics. The Wii U version of Project Cars is running at 23 FPS at 720p, not even close to what Slightly Mad would like to see.

With that information being released, what is the future of Project Cars on the Wii U?

With "a hell of a lot of work" Slightly Mad could get it running at 30 FPS on the Wii U. Bell explained to Nintendo Life that they "haven't given up on Wii U 100%,"  if they end up being unable to "make it work" they are prepared to move onto "the next Nintendo machine."

It seems as though the Wii U was always a "maybe" console in terms of development, as Slightly Mad "had no knowledge of the system."

Bottom line: Slightly Mad hasn't given up on the Wii U version, but admits that if they can't make it they will move on to the next Nintendo system.
