Project Scorpio doesn’t require FPS parity with standard Xbox One

Microsoft is changing their stance.

When Project Scorpio was revealed last year, Microsoft made it very clear that developers would be required to have the same FPS on Xbox One and Project Scorpio. This was to ensure that players on Scorpio didn't have any extreme advantage over regular Xbox One players in multiplayer games like Call of Duty. It appears that they have changed their stance on this, however.

Xbox's Mike Ybarra revealed on Twitter that the choice for FPS is up to developers. There's no requirement to make them the same on both Xbox One and Project Scorpio.

It's hard to say if this means Microsoft is going to backtrack on other promises made such as no exclusive Scorpio games but we'll find out at Xbox's E3 press conference in June.
