While we patiently await the Alien 5, the Alien film that will thankfully pretend that Alien 3 and Resurrection never happened, Ridley Scott has been hard at work wrapping up The Martian so he can proceed with Prometheus 2.
Scott, along with The Martian star Matt Damon spoke with Empire Magazine to promote their upcoming film, but they veered off course and spoke about Prometheus 2. Apparently, the moment that The Martian wrapped up Scott was already working on his next space adventure film
"Ridley was done with the movie [The Martian] about two weeks after we shot," said Damon, to which Scott followed up with: "I was already on to my next movie! I was starting to look for locations for my next movie, which is 'Prometheus 2.'"
With Prometheus 2 on the way, Alien 5 can finally get rolling — it was Scott who was holding the film back because of his work on Prometheus 2 after all. We could be looking at a 2017 release!
