ProSimCo’s ATF Upgraded to 1.03!

ProSimCo’s ATF Upgraded to 1.03!

It’s all about the fans!

Cary, NC, 21 August 2003

Captain Patrick Proctor and his warriors have
been hard at work improving their modern tactical wargame Armored Task Force and
this week has seen a whole spate of new material released. Fans of ATF will
definitely want to check out everything that ProSimCo has made available.

First up is the official version 1.03 patch.
Although the 1.02 patch was quite comprehensive a few niggling issues remained.
Path finding in restricted terrain has been improved, and a few stability issues
with the Power Toolkit have been resolved, along with a handful of other
problems a few users experienced.

1.03 is not all bug squashing though as users
will be pleased to see more content for the ATF Power Toolkit, and probably the
feature that really makes downloading version 1.03 a must—the ability to import
BCT maps into ATF.

Next, as mentioned in conjunction with the
version 1.02 patch, a mini-scenario pack has been made available for download as
a way of the Captain and company saying thank you to all the fans over the years
that have made the series such a rousing success. Included in the pack are two
brand official scenarios and two new maps. The scenarios and maps are set in
Bosnia and Saudi Arabia.

Finally, an online tutorial guide (http://www.prosimco.com/atf/tutorial/index.htm)
has been created. Other developers may take the sink or swim approach with user
created

content, forcing wannabe scenario designers
to wade through countless forums for advice from fellow gamers, but not ProSimCo.
This is a comprehensive guide to both the ATF Scenario Builder and the ATF Power
Toolkit created by the fine folks behind the game.

Topic highlights include:

* Editing Faction AI script

* Creating Battle Plans

* Mission Component editing

* Creating new vehicles and new maps

* Advanced map drawing techniques

Highly informative and chock full of helpful
visuals to guide you through the topics the online guide is a boon for both
novice and veteran gamers who want to extend their enjoyment of ATF.
