Designer Ed Key has detailed a new patch for the PC, Mac, and Linux versions of open-world exploration game Proteus.
The update improves the framerate on all versions and fixes the long hang on OSX Mavericks. It also introduces the "wilder islands" features from the more recent PlayStation 3 and PS Vita versions.
"Some of these are subtle, some aren’t, and they’re all locked until you play through once, then are randomly applied on future islands," said Key. "They are all purely visual or 'structural' things. You can also change the 'Wildness' setting in the 'Other' options menu if you want to force 'normal' islands or maximum wildness."
Key says the Steam version will update automatically, but players who bought copies from IndieGameStand or Humble will need to redownload the title.
