PS Now officially announced for PC, along with DualShock 4 USB Wireless Adaptor

Earlier today Sony jumped the gun and revealed that their subscription-based gaming service, PlayStation Now, would be heading to the PC. The announcement wasn't official, but simply a poor choice in naming images.

Sony has made the announcement official and along with it, revealed the 'DualShock 4 USB Wireless Adaptor'. Back in July, the patent for the adaptor was found in FCC Filings, but it's use was unknown. It was believed the adaptor could be for making the DualShock 4 controller able to connect to a PC, but it was never confirmed.

Well, now we know.

The $24.99 DualShock 4 USB Wireless Adaptor will let you connect your DualShock 4 to a PC or Mac to play any of the available PS Now games. The adaptor will also work with the PS4's Remote Play feature.

Here are the recommended specs for running PS Now on your PC:

  • Windows 7 (SP1), 8.1 or 10
  • 3.5 GHz Intel Core i3 or 3.8 GHz AMD A10 or faster
  • 300 MB or more; 2 GB or more of RAM
  • Sound card; USB port

Sony notes that a minimum of 5Mbps internet connection is required to use PS Now on any device, with wired internet connect being the best choice.
