If you have been using PlayStation Now on your PlaySattion 3, Vita or PS TV, you're about to get pretty unhappy. Sony has decided to discontinue the service on a number of devices that previously supported the service. This change will leave the PS4 and PC as the only two platforms that can access the game streaming service.
On August 15th, 2017, the following devices will no longer be able to access PS Now:
- PlayStation 3
- PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV
- All 2013, 2014, 2015 Sony Bravia TV models
- All Sony Blu-ray player models
- All Samsung TV models
In addition to these devices losing the service, 2016 models of Sony Bravia TVs will be discontinued on April 1, 2017. Sony explained why PS Now would no longer be compatible with the devices, saying that it would help them focus more on the PS4.
"After thoughtful consideration, we decided to shift our focus and resources to PS4 and Windows PC to further develop and improve the user experience on these two devices. This move puts us in the best position to grow the service even further. If you use any of the above devices, we want to give our heartfelt thanks for your support, and we hope you’ll continue with us. "
Your PS Now cloud game saves can be accessed on both PS4 and Windows PC, so you can continue to use the service and pick up where you left off on either of those two platforms.
