PS Vita 3.00 update preps for PS4 remote play

Sony is readying the PlayStation Vita for the upcoming launch of the PS4. System Update 3.00 for the Vita, available now for download, includes quite a few new features, but the most notable is PS4 Link which allows the Vita to connect to PS4 for Remote Play and Second Screen capabilities.

The PS4 Link app can be found on the Vita's home screen. Using it will enable you to use the Vita to remotely control your PS4 and play its games on the actual handheld. When playing a game that supports second screen features, you can also display information from that game on your Vita and use it as a second screen.

Other features in the update include the addition of a Panoramic Camera setting, an improved layout for Friends, Parenting Controls app added to home screen, and more. Check out the video below for a look at some of the new features.
